Whats better: a smaller quick profit or a larger profit that takes a long amount of time? This are my thoughts and opinion on the question. Let's look at the pros and cons of both. The textbook version would argue that your target is your target, irrespective what happens and you should hold until your target is reached. But assuming you've been in this trade for a while and you've seen some movement against your position (without it stopping you out) so there is an element of doubt in your original thesis. Objectively look at the trade and say: is the trade still as good of a trade as it was when I put it on? OK.
